A spokesperson for the social platform Tumblr said on Monday that the malware problem that was affecting many users earlier in the day, a self-replicating trojan embedded in a single post that spread around the network of blogs, has been fixed.
"Tumblr engineers have resolved the issue of the viral post attack that affected a few thousand Tumblr blogs earlier today. Thank you for your patience," a Tumblr's spokesperson said via an emailed statement.
It's unclear at this time whether the post has been deleted from all those infected blogs. TPM has reached out to Tumblr for more information and will update when we receive it.
