The Tea Party Express, the largest tea party PAC, will endorse long-shot GOP Senate nominee Clark Durant over former Rep. Pete Hoekstra Thursday, the favorite, ahead of Michigan's August 7 primary, reports CNN. The primary winner will challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
"Clark Durant is a Reagan conservative," Express Chairman Amy Kremer said, via CNN. "The people are rallying around him. He's not a career politician."
So far this primary season, we've seen tea party candidates Richard Mourdock in Indiana and Ted Cruz in Texas win their respective primaries. But at this point, less than a week before the primary, the endorsement may be too little too late.
