Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says he disagrees with Mitt Romney's promise to label China a currency manipulator on his first day in office -- a pledge Romney has made on the trail and in the second town hall debate.
On CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, Rubio said he feared this could lead to a trade war.
"I agree with Mitt Romney that China's a currency manipulator," Rubio said. "I believe that a trade war is not the right way to approach it and I think that if you label them a currency manipulator, that's what it may result in. It would hurt American businesses."
Rubio continued: "But I understand his frustration -- we may have to do what Gov. Romney is saying. We may have to label them a currency manipulator… It may come to that, but hopefully we can avoid that."
