In some good news for Rep. Todd Akin, four prominent Republican senators are hosting a fundraiser for the embattled Missouri Senate candidate in Washington, D.C. next week, according to an invitation obtained by Politico. Sens. Jim DeMint (R-SC), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) are scheduled to attend the function.

The event is a welcome develpment for the candidate given the fact that the National Republican Senatorial Committee, chaired by Sen. John Cornyn, has, at least for the moment, abandoned Akin.
