Steven Crowder, the Fox News contributor who was punched on camera during right-to-work protests in Lansing, Michigan this week, initiated an investigation into the incident with police Friday, according to the Washington Post's Erik Wemple:
Richard Hale, the shift supervisor at the Lansing post of the Michigan State Police, just told the Erik Wemple Blog that he’d spoken with Crowder not long ago. “By calling in, he’s in essence filed a complaint. He’s initiated the process for the filing of a criminal complaint,” said Hale.
On Thursday, an MSP spokesperson told TPM he was surprised that Crowder had not called them in after the potential assault. Crowder had instead challenged the protester who hit him to an MMA-sanctioned fight for charity.
