The National Rifle Association declined to comment Thursday on President Obama's new call for government action on guns Wendesday night, saying it was too soon after the Colorado shootings to engage in a political fight.
"We believe that now is the time for families to grieve and for the community to heal," Andrew Arulanandam, NRA director of public affairs, told TPM. "There will be an appropriate time down the road to engage in political and policy discussions."
Arulanandam said the NRA is "not doing interviews" for the time being.
