Former President Bill Clinton competed for viewers with a Cowboys vs. Giants NFL football game and came up short by about 3.5 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings reported by the Washington Post.

The Cowboys and Giants received a total of 24 million viewers Wednesday night on NBC, while about 20.6 million viewers watched Clinton across the other major broadcast and cable networks. The numbers aren't final.
