The NCAA announced sanctions against Penn State in the wake of the university's child sex abuse scandal, including a $60 million fine and vacating the school's football wins from 1998 to 2011.
The Penn State football team will also be banned from post-season play for four years. “One of the grave dangers of our love of sports is that the sports themselves become too big to fail,” NCAA President Mark Emmert said, announcing the punishment. Penn State agreed to the NCAA's sanctions.
"No price the NCAA can levy with repair the damage inflicted by Jerry Sandusky on his victims," Emmert added.
