Hurricane Sandy has already forced President Obama off the campaign trail until at least Wednesday. Now Joe Biden is canceling his events in Ohio and Pennsylvania as well to avoid burdening local disaster response efforts. From the campaign:
Due to local preparation and response efforts, the Vice President’s events tomorrow, October 30, in Wooster and Gambier, Ohio and the event in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Thursday, November 1 are cancelled. This change in schedule is being taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on ensuring the safety of people who might be impacted by the storm.
