South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) announced her replacement for outgoing Sen. Jim DeMint on Monday, naming Rep. Tim Scott (R-SC) to the office.

"It is with great pleasure that I am announcing our next U.S. senator to be Congressman Tim Scott," Haley said.
