During her speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Wednesday night, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez touted the fact when she was young, she owned a gun.

"My dad made sure I could take care of myself," Martinez said to massive applause. "I carried a Smith & Wessen, .357 Magnum. Yes, that gun weighed more than I did."
