The National Republican Senatorial Committee has signaled that it is taking a new interest in Todd Akin's Senate campaign in Missouri, giving Democrats a chance to tie Republican candidates across the country to Akin weeks after most of the GOP abanonded him. On Thursday, that process began.
"A Vote For [Scott] Brown Is A Vote For Todd Akin’s Extreme Views," reads a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee press release sent to Massachusetts. The release says Sen Scott Brown (R-MA) has "remained silent ever since his party bosses in Washington did an about face and decided to ultimately support Akin’s campaign."
Similar releases are targeting Republican Senate nominees Linda McMahon in Connecticut, Dean Heller in Nevada and George Allen in Virginia.
