The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) launched a new website on Monday, www.GOPHostageTakers.com, seeking online petitions aimed at pressuring 40 House Republicans into voting for a middle class tax cut extension.

The push follows a discharge petition filed in the House by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), a procedural tool that will increase pressure on Republicans to allow Bush tax cuts for top earners to expire. If 218 members sign the petition, the legislation would get a vote putting Republicans on the spot.
