Top Komen Health Official Resigned Over Planned Parenthood Decision

The Komen Foundation’s top health official, Mollie Williams, resigned in protest over the decision to cut funding to Planned Parenthood, reports The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg. His sources tell him the decision to cut was driven by the new Vice President for Policy (and anti-Planned Parenthood politician) Karen Handel. He reports that the organization’s leaders have apparently pondered cutting funding for Planned Parenthood for a while and saw Rep. Cliff Stearns investigation in Congress as an opportunity to do so.
