Romney Hits Obama In Maine
After a speech at CPAC Friday, Mitt Romney headed north to Maine, where the results of the Pine Tree State’s caucuses will be announced Saturday evening. It’s essentially a two-man race between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. The other candidates haven’t campaigned there. In a town hall appearance Friday, Romney criticized President Obama.
The Portland Press Herald reports:
Romney jabbed Obama for “launching an assault on religious conviction,” referring to a rule in the health care reform act that will require health insurance plans for employees of religious nonprofits to provide contraception coverage.
“That will end,” Romney said.
Ron Paul has also made a bid for the state, telling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer earlier this week that he believes he could win the Republican contest. If he does, Paul would be the fourth candidate to win a state. Maine has held caucuses throughout the past week. The results will be announced in full Saturday night.
